Collins Report: John Rose Oval Open for the Season
Waterskiing season is now open at the John Rose Oval! The aggressive skating ramps have been converted to water ski jumps. Mike Anderson will be pulling people behind his new boat with his new Evinrude 150. This water based beast can pull some tight corners so wear your helmet and get ready to bounce off the rails if haven’t been on the water in a few months. The city of Roseville is trucking in sand to create a beach in the middle of the track. Wear your swimming trunks, bring your sun tan lotion and prepare to swim.
The ice is still open for those of you who want to skate, but bring your life jacket and waders.

On a more serious note, despite the warm weather, the oval has opened for the speedskating season. Go to the Oval website for general info on ice skating. GMSA has info on clubs for speedskating–the Midwest Skate Club is great for adults interested in taking up the sport.
