The Summer Inline Series will return Wednesday, June 17th [Oval required us to wait another week] to the Roseville Oval. Races will begin around 6, get there early to warm-up. The event is run by GMSA/US Speedskating. Those organizations have imposed “safety measures”, such as: seating restrictions, and limits on the number of participants in each event (for example, we will be running heats rather than having everyone go as a big group). Stay tuned to inlineskatempls for weather or other cancellation notices. Racing is FREE.
In light of all of the local race cancellations, I have not yet decided the fate of the 2020 Minnesota Inline Grand Prix. We only have three MIGP events left on the schedule, four if we count the Summer Inline Series (and I would).
You have missed out on the social aspects of inline all season, so come out Wednesday the 17th to see familiar faces (or part of them). Stand as far away from them as you need to. Helmets required.

I’m an out of towner, but I’m so glad to see this happening! It gives me hope that Norhshore will happen. ROTR’s wimpy survey makes me think they will cancel. Until I saw this, I was starting to wonder if the only outdoor racing nationally this season would be at the Eastern Seaboard Series in Pennsylvania. I now have a little hope.
Hi, is it ok to just show up for this event at the Oval even if you are a beginner? I have all the safety gear and bought new skates in April and I’ve practiced some in hockey rink. I just started skating the end of December at the Oval and enjoyed it and i believe i can do most the basics – i struggle with stopping. I am starting skating later in life – I am 52 years old.
I thought if i could i would join beginner group or go on my own and watch if that’s not available. Who do i ask to talk to about getting going or just talk to anyone there to get orientated?
Thanks,
Chris
Editor: Yes, Chris, come on out. Updated: Thanks for coming out Chris.
