Video of Berlin Inline Marathon featuring Darril Otto

In his second season on inline skates, 51 year old Darril Otto, has quickly risen to the top of our local inline skating community.  He actively participates in many of the group skates and races.  He finished fifth in the Minnesota Inline Grand Prix standings, but wasn’t present to accept his award because he was competing in the Berlin Inline Marathon.  The photo above shows Darril in the center after the Chicagoland Inline Marathon.

Darril skipped the NSIM to include the Berlin Inline Marathon, the world’s largest, on his european vacation.  He completed the marathon in 1:11:18, which was good for 28th in his age group and fifth best overall among Americans.  Below is video from a German skater, but Darril is frequently shown in the footage, including a strong final push to finish ahead of the photographer.
